I’ve dedicated 35 years of my life working in the oil industry in a variety of capacities, both internationally and in the United States. The myth that we must free ourselves of hydrocarbon usage via wind and solar power introduces a myriad of vulnerabilities to our nation. A robust economy and fearsome national defense relies heavily on our nation’s ability to provide reliable and economical energy on demand. While wind and solar energy may provide supplemental energy to the grid, it cannot be relied upon to provide stable, baseload power. I am in solid support of continued oil exploration, as well as expanding nuclear energy projects.
